On my initial attempt to install, the installer blocked me insisting on the installation of Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 - once I downloaded and installed that, the .net 2.0 installer threw an error. I ignored this in case SR 3D would work anyway, and this time the SR 3D installer worked.
