Arch Linux, kernel version 2.6.25 (standard arch version), on an AMD Athlon (32
bit). Display manager GDM 2.20.1, window manager fluxbox 1.0.0-1. Since I don't
really know what "compositing" is, I'm fairly sure I'm not using it.

Thanks for any tips on what to try next to provide useful information.
