Oddly, I have the same issue - dotnet versions up to 3.0 work fine, but all
later versions just hang forever.

When I try to install dotnet40 with winetricks, it gets up to
Executing winetricks_early_wine regedit C:\windows\Temp\_winxp\set-winver.reg
and then it just never completes.

I wonder if this is related.
