I had to disable fbo again because I was getting a black screen instead of the galaxy, but once i did that it seems fine with my version 1.01. I am though having an unrelated issue where water on some planets isn't rendering at all, that i only noticed after i upgraded to 1.01. I guess I'll post a seperate bug on that. I'm also an opensuse user, take a look at http://www.sendspace.pl/file/tJuYz3be/ where I uploaded the last patched wine version that worked for me without the river glitches on spore 1.00. It's basically the one with the recommended patch for 1.1.4 (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15883). The package has been compiled with the extra spore patch on opensuse 11. See if you run into problems like mine if you upgrade spore to 1.01.
