Yes, it helps. Although the installation throws some "Unhandled page fault on
read access" it now manages to finish.

Unfortunately, Office 2000 is still unusable, because I can not finish
registration. But this is another bug report. This is really sad because Office
2000 once worked almost perfectly in pre-1.0 times...
