[Bug 30318] Chess Champ 2.0 crashes when pieces are moved

Can anyone tell me at least what these errors mean? 
"DDE_ACK: neither atom nor handle!!!" Sounds both dramatic, but
meaningless...Google gives 212 results for that. All it tells me is it affects
16-bit apps in some way. I know wine can run 16-but apps under 32-bit linux, so
what's causing this?
