Example:
git clone git://source.winehq.org/git/vkd3d.git
wget -O wow_hack.diff https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=63022
cd vkd3d
patch -p1 < ../wow_hack.diff

Compile as usual
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
make install

(Depending on distro i guess).
