Does it still work if you go back? It might be an ATI driver bug that breaks the minimap, that wouldn't be the first time. Currently the minimap is broken on r200 cards with both fglrx(not supported any more since quite some time), and all radeon cards with the open source driver(no GL_SGIX_pbuffer support, and no GL_EXT_framebuffer_object support).
