Yosumin (https://store.steampowered.com/app/23300/Yosumin/) is also affected. winetricks helps for Yosumin (by pulling in d3dx9) and "東方聖戦影 ～ Forlorn Souls of Wicked Past" (for the latter, I can't test, but according to ProtonDB: https://www.protondb.com/app/3138090). I reported this originally as Proton's issue: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8608 . There the dev "kisak-valve" kindly pointed me to this bug.
