To reproduce, install Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II demo (21MB)

cd ".wine/drive_c/Program Files/LucasArts/Jedi Knight Demo"
wine jkdemo.exe -windowgui

The program then is displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen,
without a title or borders.
