Have you tried the workaround mentioned in bug 12714 (set the Windows version to NT 3.5)? You can try that even in your old Wine version, and if it solves the problem with Cubase, we can mark this as a duplicate. If it doesn't work, we at least know this is not the same issue.
Hello Rosanne, Yes, I did try with version NT 3.5 from install to launch the apps but no chance, still failing same place. I also did a lot of winetrick play around with dll and so on but again none of the combination used worked. Of course I googled a lot on this topic or similar one.
