On restarting my machine the following day Pegasus now appears to work correctly.
Mail sends correctly and selective download also works.
I tested this for five separate mail send functions as well as a number of header downloads with some selected for deletion and others selected for download.
Pegasus remained functioning throughout.
Today, Monday 28 January 2008 Pegasus is now shutting down again when I send mail or do a selective download. Why this should be I don't know, same machine, same pegasus, no extra updates. Regretfully it seems this has not been resolved.
