http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13335 Robert Krig <rkrig(a)gmx.de> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |rkrig(a)gmx.de --- Comment #123 from Robert Krig <rkrig(a)gmx.de> 2008-12-22 20:27:23 --- Just wanted to confirm that I'm experiencing reproducable crashes in WoW on the following System: Gentoo Linux x86_64 Kernel gentoo-sources 2.6.25-gentoo-r7 NVidia 8600GT GPU using nvidia-drivers-177.82 My CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 8GB Ram. Whenever I play, I open up HTOP on my Laptop to track the process. The VIRT column for the WoW.exe process slowly rises during gameplay. Sometimes it falls a little, but whenever the VIRT column gets to 4096M, then WoW crashes shortly thereafter.
From what I've gathered this problem has to do with the way Wine internally handles memory.
I was just wondering if this is something that can be easily fixed in the short term, or will it require some fundamental changes in the way wine handles memory, which would take quite some time to implement? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
