[Bug 8936] openCanvas does not start properly

Note: openCanvas (both versions 1.x and 4.5) start up normally under Crossover
Office. I suspect the problem is in the Fedora distribution. Can someone check
what is messed up in Fedora so we can move the bug there?

P.S. Dan, are you also using Fedora?
