Your thoughts is exactly what i thought too.

Isn`t it so that when SetFileInformationByHandle delegates the call to
NtSetInformationFile first some "conversion" needs to be done of the info
structure. There`s several examples in kernelbase/file.c where
RtlDosPathNameToNtPathName_U does that job.
