[Bug 40083] Heroes of the Storm Freezes/Crashes after its recent updates

For the 32-bit client, this should be fixed by commit
e65c89f1c52c8aa4bbc375751138d0aec6bd237a. The patch for the 64-bit client is
probably in the right direction, but could do with some tests.
