I don't see anything obviously wrong with dinput. The part that fails just
tries to print an error. The fact itself it fails kind of suspicious. But
that's about it. Really looks like a case of memory corruption.

Can you try to run Wine under valgrind? It's a long shot at best. Even latest
valgind having problems with Wine.
