Might be useful to know that I have acces to real low fullscreen resolutions:
640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and the native 1280x800.
I have crafted myself a custom EDID for my lcd monitor and it works well.

My cpu is in adaptive clocking all the time but it didn't give me trouble in
the past except for linux native unreal tournament GOTY (1999)
