You have several unsupported patches applied. If you can still reproduce with 'pure' Wine create a new bug. The original breaking issue from Dec. 03 client update has been identified and fixed -> bug closed. Please refrain from continuing this bug with unrelated issues. FYI: Several people can run Steam Dec. 03 update without problems in online mode.
