I was able to reproduce the originally reported failure (Run-time error '5') with wine-1.2 in a Ubuntu 10.04 VM, and I found that this particular issue was first fixed in the wine-1.3.15 release by commit 4f3b78797db0be5a1a5637513e36b7efe59ad213. With the fix, a "Error: Access violation" dialog box appears instead, but this issue is addressed by commit 44936abd8444f676a7d0e8fe415749146da73125 first available in the wine-1.5.12 release. With this additional fix, a "Error -2147417848 (Automation error)" dialog box appears instead, but this issue is addressed by commit 2f7afbebd1e7944b0374ba2438baa52741936809 first available in the wine-1.5.14 release. The update server is not available anymore, so it's no longer possible to determine if any problems with the update functionality still exist, although it would be a separate issue from the originally reported one anyway. As the issue that was originally reported was fixed in Wine long ago, I'm resolving this bug as fixed. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
