I have never encountered this problem running poser under Windows 2000 or XP. Have you updated Poser to SR3? (it will show as version 7.0.4.220 under Help>About Poser) Also make sure your video drivers are up-to-date.

Yes I routinely update whenever they send out an update. I will admit thta htis is pretty rare under Windows, but I have seen it happen. I suspect that there is something in the Linux/Ubuntu/Wine setup thta makes it worse and produces some other display glitches however.
