First, you must uninstall HL2. Then click Start -> Run. Type the following and press Enter: cmd A DOS prompt will appear. Type these three commands, pressing Enter after each command: c: cd \windows\temp msiexec d:\media\hl2_1\hl2.msi /qn /l*v winmsiverbose.log This bit is not crucial: It would also be nice if you could uninstall and install again using the command msiexec d:\media\hl2_1\hl2.msi /qn /l* winmsi.log Then send us the file c:\windows\temp\winverbose.log. If it is more than 500KB, please zip it *with gzip* before you send it. (Many browsers automatically decompress gzipped text on the fly for display purposes.)
