[Bug 28898] Diablo 3 beta multi-threaded installer freezes

Did anyone other test the patch provided by William? It does not work that well
to me:

 - when running launcher, i'm stuck with Diablo logo (runs properly with
previous patch)
 - when running diablo executable, stucks at "Checking for updates" (previously
got past this check but stucked later on logo)
