I can't confirm this. The app starts here,so no crash, though it doesn't display any useful info for my GPU
The functionning you describes is also the one I obtain for GPU-Z 0.x to version 0.5.4 and that is the subject of the bug report 25087. But for the 0.5.5 version, mentioned here, the application encounters a problem during the launch and will not run.
