I figured it was a Wine thing because google search showed the issue with several games. Maybe it's only Steam games? In any case, my issue is precisely the same as user b.w(a)gmx.tm. It happens randomly, could be 5 seconds or 50 minutes into gameplay. Tried disabling addons/mods to no avail. I am also on ArchLinux. Everything has been updated today, so I have Wine 1.5.12 and updated drivers (nvidia).
