It was just a suggestion, in case masking signals has too much overhead and
full tracking of IP position too complex.

I'm not really comfortable enough with the code to attempt a proper solution
myself... there's a lot of subtlety in there (e.g. CFI) that I have no idea
about. I hope someone else who knows the code better can pick this up.
