This is starting to get better.
If it's not too much trouble, could you figure out which patch/patches caused it to change?
Because of a permission issue with the Launcher, doing a regression test now is annoyingly long. On a more interesting note, using a virtual desktop regresses to the first screenshot's behaviour.
