I just updated to Intel driver 2.16.0 (from 2.14.0), but the result is still the same.
I am now on wine 1.3.25 (as 1.3.26 messes up with PowerPoint and Word)
When you access the file menu in Word, is it correctly displayed (no black blocks)? I just tested the sample file on my laptop, which has Intel GM965 integrated graphics and the 2.16.0 driver, and the jpg appears fine there, also. This was in Wine 1.3.24.
