http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35481 Bug ID: 35481 Summary: Failure to install a Windows program and apparently a political issue Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: alan(a)asandco.co.uk Classification: Unclassified Created attachment 47367 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=47367 screen print of the error message After successfully installing wine 1.6.1 from the Mageia 4 RC repository to an Asus netbook and installing a Windows program from a 1996 cover CD, I decided that I needed a larger drive an more RAM. When both were installed and the system re-installed from the same DVD, I again installed wine 1.6.1 (including qtwine version 1.0 and again attempted to install the same program. It failed with two results, an error window displaying: "The program winevdm.exe encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." but more surprisingly, the browser came up with this url. http://q4wine.brezblock.org.ua/documentation/q4wine_en_gb/05-first-steps.htm... This is a political message. Does this mean wine is now held hostage? I was able to reproduce this effect a second time. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
