msxml_private.h has the following piece of code:

/* IXMLDOMNode Internal Structure */
typedef struct _xmlnode
{
    const struct IXMLDOMNodeVtbl *lpVtbl;
    const struct IUnknownVtbl *lpInternalUnkVtbl;
    IUnknown *pUnkOuter;
    LONG ref;
    xmlNodePtr node;
} xmlnode;

this piece of code is not surrounded by #ifdef's but does use a libxml2
variable type: xmlNodePtr

This causes cryptic compile errors if you don't have libxml2 installed.
