ah, it seems old Premiere lost his mind if Wjne present too much memiry to him
(my desktop had 12 gb, my laptop have 6 gb)

I edited file cat'ed from /proc/meminfo for smaller memory sizes (memfree not
bigger than 1416628 kb, memAvailable 180960 kb, memtotal 2603183 kb) and
bind-mounted file back over /proc/meminfo.

It worked, at least for Premiere 5.0/5.5

so.. this bug has workaround now!
