Sample application used to reproduce this bug

To reproduce:
- install MSDE as described on its appdb page
- install native dotnet20
- extract bin\Debug directory from the attached archive and run
WindowsFormsApplication1.exe
- press 'SqlConnection out' button
Native .NET is required. Without it the application runs fine, however it does
not cause SQLServer to fail.
