Is this still present in current (1.1.28 or newer) wine?
I'm afraid so. When trying to run it with winecfg set to emulate Windows Vista, the game fails to launch entirely (separate bug posted for that). This bug refers specifically to using a 3rd-party xp loader and having winecfg set to Windows XP mode. Same thing happens with 1.1.28 - I get 100% cpu activity, no console output and nothing ever launches.
