https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40827 Anastasius Focht <focht(a)gmx.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution|ABANDONED |FIXED Status|CLOSED |RESOLVED --- Comment #9 from Anastasius Focht <focht(a)gmx.net> --- Hello Elias, please don't recycle old tickets for unrelated problems. Just because there is a similarity of console output (fixme messages) it doesn't mean the problem is the same. Also 'VMWare vSphere client' is certainly not the same product as 'VMWare player', although they share some technology. I've retested the old VMWare VSphere client installer with recent Wine 7.1 and older. The installer runs to completion. There is a "silent" crash in a kernel service during post-install process but that's unrelated to the original installer failure. The installer itself succeeds. The installer problem was a fixed long time ago. * Wine 7.1 = works * Wine 6.0 = works * Wine 5.0 = works * Wine 4.0 = works Currently I can't test for very old Wine versions because I've reinstalled my machine with Fedora 35. I'm still in the process of building all Wine releases down to Wine 1.x with Gcc 11.x from source. Anyway, changing the resolution from 'abandoned' to 'fixed'.
