No, i didn't (clean .wine dir), because i think it used to work that way, that you run setup.exe and at the end was run some CFGwizard.exe which used to crash. But always the result was: "installed successfully".
It's quite possible that msi changes caused more custom actions to be run, one of them needing mfc42. Which version of Office 2000 is this?
