Another workaround - previously unavailable - is to use small scale Tango icon
set.


Fenster - Einstellungen (CTRL-E) - Anzeige - Toolbar anzeigen - Icon Satz laden
"tango!"

With the default icon set the behaviour is still reproducable under wine 2.9
