When I disable UseGLSL I get "System initialization failed (0x024e424f)".

The only place I see this listed is at hack sites but I have a legitimate copy
of the game.  

My daughter wants me to replace Linux with Windows, just so she can play the
game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  - thanks
