Hmm, then I'd like to know whats wrong with my machine when your runs TMNF
fine.

I suppose I'll see some warning or error in terminal when I'll have wrong .so
files.

Yes, I use mplayer with -channels 6 switch (and ao is alsa) and it plays my
DVDs just fine.
