I can confirm that for "Thief: Deadly Shadows" at least, running two monitors
in extended desktop mode fixes the bug. Windowed mode works too.

OS: Ubuntu 14.04.1 (kernel 3.13.0-34-generic)
WINE version: 1.6.2-0ubuntu4
CPU: i7-4700MQ
Graphics: Intel HD4600
