Has anyone tried to run Steam/game with sound disabled (Alsa and OSS unchecked
in winecfg)? At least on my system wineserver seems to behave better with the
sound gone.

Note though that I'm running Modern Warfare 2, not TF2, but it seems like the
same bug considering wineserver is eating up a lot of resources here too.
