Created a fresh .wine with todays git, ran the game once before this log to setup gecko, enter cd-key and adjust display settings. When trying to display motd, it paints the empty, transparent window and then hangs. The only thing you can do to make it show some kind of reaction is to press esc, which just adds a bunch of lines to the console output.
