Then I disconnected from the server for a while but left TF2 running. Later I reconnected and the bug (or at least the same symptoms) appeared after 5 minutes. (ahhh nuts!) Exiting (killing wineserver, etc.) and restarting Steam didn't help at that point.. within 10 mins the symptoms always re-appeared.
