Also interestingly, if you do
  cd ~/.wine/drive_c/cygwin/bin
  wine bash -i
the problem does not occur... at
least, not until you issue the second command.
  ./ls
works once, but the second time you run it, you
get the spewage.  Sometimes ^C stops it, but
after that, the shell is unstable.

The problem also occurs the same with
ash and dash.
