Trying that version on my current install did no good. I tried building other versions and using packaged binaries as well, going as early as 1.0.1 I believe. All of them that I was able to patch exhibited the same behavior. I'm guessing then something has changed with a dependency or the implementation, or it's possible my install is messed up, too.
