[Bug 27062] Simcity 3000: irrecoverable black screen, even with virtual desktop

I downloaded demo version of Simcity 3000 (link in AppDB), and I can confirm
the black screen issue. Restoring gamma works, and then I can play the demo
without problems.

The issue with Painkiller, which I mentioned earlier, is that it also crashes,
so I filled a separate bug report (bug #27079).
