I just tested it on MATE, and indeed the behavior is broken. Can you see if
https://github.com/mate-desktop/marco/pull/167 fixes things? For reference have
a look at https://github.com/mate-desktop/marco/issues/166, I've been
discussing the related Marco bug there.
