[Bug 19508] New: Cosmology of Kyoto crashes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19508 Summary: Cosmology of Kyoto crashes. Product: Wine Version: 1.1.26 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: motleyjester13(a)yahoo.com Created an attachment (id=22696) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=22696) Backtrace of Wine attempting to launch the game executable. Ok, this one is of no major importance I guess. I just got nostalgic and wanted to play Cosmology of Kyoto again. Anyway, upon trying to launch the program I get a nice crash log, and no joy. This one is an app made with Macromedia tools. I figured I'd go ahead an introduce a bug for this one since none exist (surprising). The backtrace is attached below. Cheers. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Betts <computers57(a)hotmail.com> 2012-05-27 20:25:29 CDT --- <<Copied over from a similar bug report>> On a SimTower CD I got a long time ago, there is a demo of a game maker called Klick & Play. However, when I try to run any game, I get the following error on the console: err:dc:CreateDCW no driver found for L"DIB" And the Klick & Play then complains about a lack of RAM.
From what I can tell, it may be trying to load a custom driver, but the driver is a 16-bit DLL (actual filetype is .drv) and probably doesn't work with the 32-bit side of Wine.
<<additional notes:>> It seems that the DIB.DRV was either a part of Windows or developed by Microsoft, because I read on this web page: http://www.herdsoft.com/ti/davincie/leon8k4j.htm that DIB.DRV is win16-only. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

It may be related, but this specific bug regards the win16 compatibility layer, not the "native" win32 or win64 runtimes. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
