[Bug 9019] Wine version 0.9.41 appears to be at fault for WoW.exe crash.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9019 ------- Additional Comments From yoda2031(a)hotmail.com 2007-20-07 17:01 ------- Tell me, can you read? "I did this, logged in as non-root, and now the framerate is unbearably low, as I said happens in dX mode." Also, my other user account is "privileged", and can therefore also do *everything*, the only differences I see are root being allowed to use pids under 1024 and root being allowed to edit system files. Would you stop patronising me, please? also: " but running normal programs as root is one the main reasons that spyware proliferates on windows machines." I'm not on a windows machine, and when I was I had no problems with spyware. Don't talk to me about security, I've been a systems administrator for 5 years and never once had any trouble with malware of any kind. I've not even had a successful hack attempt go past me. I -have- run it as a non-root user, and a different problem appears. I don't see why, though, as I am using the same home directory for the root user, so the same ~/.wine files are being used. All I can see is a memory leak, causing a bigger problem for the root account, possibly because it's allowing wine more RAM? I think your attitudes are rather poor about this. I am a user submitting a -bug-, who cares what exactly is wrong, this is wine's fault and it did work before the latest wine version and I'm not an idiot! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
