As already said, you're using an outdated Wine version. Unfortunately some distros still ship old Wine versions dubbed "stable" by default. In future please ensure your Wine has been upgraded to most recent version before filing bug reports. It has already been mentioned a few times here. What part of "your version of Wine is over two years old. Please retest with a more up-to-date version" is hard to understand? It's pointless to post additional backtraces with an outdated Wine 1.6.2 version (which OP already did). Resolving here since several people already confirmed it working with recent Wine versions. Latest stable release: Wine 1.6.2 This is also the bundled version with ubuntu 15.10 I have just added the wine ppa and tried again with version 1.7.50 This time the installer crashes and disappears after accepting the terms and conditions and after a short time all wine services in the system monitor disappear.
