All cnet downloads now go through their custom downloader app thing.

Running, however, gives an error dialog:
Unable to initialize installer GUI.

FIXME's are mostly ieframe. Native ie7 doesn't help, however.

Noticed this problem too.

Multiple problem at least in urlmon, mshtml, some unknown, msxml and wininet.

winetricks ie6 and gui is visible, but nothing happens

Add winetricks msxml3 and you can click "next step". But after that "We're
unable to connect.."

Add winetricks wininet and download works. Install starts.. But then nothing

Upon downloading Davor's php editor, cnet downloaded installer.
Installer ran briefly, then crashed with error message" Unable to initialize
installer GUI" and program exits.
Appears to be same instance of earlier bug.

Linux 12.04 Precise LTS 32-bit
Kernel Linux 3.2.0-25-generic-pae
GNOME 3.4.1

Not really fixed, there is just new version and it happens to work.. Old
version still fails same way.

Hello folks,

please always provide a usable link, even if it disappears at one point. There
might be a chance that archive.org has a snapshot (unless it was prevented from
crawling/snapshots via technical means).

Search for 'cnet_BC13-setup_exe.exe' and 'cnet_Catan_exe.exe' returned no
results except this bug.

Based on the error message, usage of dhtml and IEx workarounds it could be a
dupe of bug 35557.

Resolving as 'ABANDONED' here because old versions of the CNET downloader are
apparently not available anymore. If you dig out an old working version you
might reopen.

There was one
(http://www.download.com/Catan-The-Computer-Game/3000-7562_4-10396066.html, see
bug history). archive.org snapshotted it a few times, but not the actual
installer in the half dozen or so I checked.
